Woman's worth — Can a homemaker's work be assessed? A Supreme Court judgment on a compensation case has reopened the debate

Dr. Sanjukta Chaudhuri, economics, was quoted in the Feb. 25 issue of the newspaper "The Telegraph," which is published in all major cities of India. The article is titled "Woman's worth Can a homemaker's work be assessed? A Supreme Court judgment on a compensation case has reopened the debate." Speaking from a feminist-economics perspective, Chaudhuri speaks out in favor of calculating the value of housework accomplished by women who are homemakers and including it in India's GDP in recognition of the productive value generated by homemakers every year.
